Operations Director, ICW Building Control

Job description

The Operations Director is responsible for co-ordination of the internal structure of the building control service, implementing company policies and achieving company goals and objectives to ensure a competent and compliant working environment and that quality standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assisting Managing Director in promoting company growth
  • Managing, monitoring, and reviewing the Quality Management System
  • Overseeing the technical audits of surveyors to ensure the building control service meets company standards and objectives
  • Overseeing building control team activities
  • Developing plans to support business framework
  • Ensuring customer requirements are met in a timely manner
  • Managing external and professional consultants
  • Managing and implementing training programs for Building Control Team
  • Carrying out additional duties as required by the wider ICW Group

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Chartered membership of an appropriate professional institution (RICS, CABE, CIOB).
  • Experience in the construction industry with relevant experience at senior management level in Building Control.
  • Excellent client facing and relationship building skills.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written with appropriate interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a varied and busy workload.
  • Able to work with the minimum of supervision, in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards/legislation and environmental issues.
  • IT literate with the ability to use a range of software programmes.
